The picture, an oil painting on canvas, shows the Madras St.George Fort as viewed from see. Its date back to c.1731 – a British Museum collection.
The painting measurement is H 81 x W 132 cm. It shows the government buildings and the various parts of the fortifications stand out with great distinctness. To the left of the flag tower is seen St Mary’s Church.
