The role of regional history in the context of general history is very important. It forms a vital tributary to the great confluence of general history. The importance of a study of the full history of the state, the people, its uniqueness and its historical records should not be underestimated. Madras is a cosmopolitan city for centuries; It received people from various parts of the world; A city engaged in sieges; attracted traders from various parts of the world; and is being the center for cultural integrity. At present many historical monuments in Madras, the present day Chennai city are endangered.
